THE RECORD
On July 27, 2026, Daytona Beach police responded to Jackie's home on Reena Drive and found the 44-year-old mother of three fatally shot. Police identified her estranged husband, Robert Reyes Jr., as the suspected shooter.
Police Chief Jakari Young said Robert forced his way through the back door of Jackie's home before shooting her. At the time, Jackie was on the phone with one of her sons. Her son heard the encounter unfolding, ended the call with his mother, and contacted 911 for help.
Robert fled Daytona Beach following the homicide. Law enforcement later located him in Titusville, where officers attempted a traffic stop. A pursuit ended when his vehicle entered a pond at Sand Point Park. Authorities subsequently found Robert dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound
RELATIONSHIP CONTEXT
Estranged Husband
Jackie and Robert Reyes Jr., 54, were estranged at the time of her death. Police said Jackie had moved to Daytona Beach approximately a year earlier as she separated herself from the relationship. Her oldest son later described his parents as divorced.
Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young said Robert had been trying to resume the relationship and became angry after learning that Jackie had moved on and was dating other people. Police also described a history of unwanted conduct after the separation. In December 2025, Robert allegedly entered Jackie's residence without permission and damaged her clothing with bleach.

PATTERNS DOCUMENTED IN AVAILABLE RECORDS
These indicators reflect what could be established from available sources. Absence from this list does not establish that a behavior did not occur.
LEGAL / SYSTEM RESPONSE
The available record documents law-enforcement contact concerning the relationship before Jackie's homicide.
Police disclosed that in December 2025, Robert allegedly entered Jackie's residence without permission and damaged some of her clothing with bleach. Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young characterized that earlier incident as a burglary.
Reporting also indicates that Jackie had previously sought a restraining order involving Robert in 2017. The proceeding was reportedly dismissed after Jackie did not appear in court. The dismissal should not be interpreted as establishing that the underlying allegations were false.
Following Jackie's homicide, Robert was located by law enforcement in Titusville but died before he could be arrested or prosecuted for her death.
