REMEMBER Katherine

Katherine Luz Evans

52 YEARS OLD ·

Brandon,

Florida

Katherine Luz Evans, lovingly known as Katie or Kat, was 52 years old and remembered by her family as vibrant, radiant, compassionate, and deeply devoted to the people and animals around her. Her family said she could light up a room with her infectious smile and positive spirit, and she was often the first to help someone in need.

Katie was also a devoted mother to her son, Taylor. Following her death, her family created a memorial fund both to honor Katie and to help support Taylor as he moved forward without his mother.

Katherine Luz Evans was born November 21, 1973, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, a city her obituary says she loved dearly. She died on June 18, 2026, at age 52.

Her family remembered Katie as an exceptionally caring person and an attentive listener who made time for friends and relatives who needed her. Her compassion extended to animals: she rescued injured animals she encountered in her backyard or while running and fostered numerous dogs in need.

Katie was also remembered for her distinctive, joyful personality. Her family affectionately recalled her elaborate Barbie Christmas tree, describing it as representative of her unique style and spirit. They remembered her as both strong and feminine—a woman whose presence brought warmth and happiness to those around her.
