Rosario Samantha Sanchez, known as Rosie, was 19 years old and a young mother. A friend who had spent time with Rosie only days before her death remembered her as outgoing and said she was someone who did not have problems with others. Rosie’s funeral service was held at Open Bible Tabernacle in Marietta, Georgia, where family and loved ones gathered to celebrate her life.

Rosario SOn September 5, 2017, Rosario Sanchez and her mother, 60-year-old Paula Portillo, were found dead inside their home on Mastic Lane in western Leon County. Malik Wade, Rosie’s 19-year-old ex-boyfriend and the father of her young daughter, was arrested within hours. Prosecutors later alleged that Wade killed both Rosie and her mother and left his and Rosie’s 2-year-old daughter at the crime scene.anchez died on September 5, 2017.

Malik Wade was taken into custody shortly after Rosie and Paula were discovered and was initially charged with two counts of homicide. He was ordered held without bond.
