I’M EXPERIENCING SOMETHING

Information about IPV, recognizing behaviors, confidential support, safety planning, shelters, advocacy, legal resources, and other assistance.

Something does not have to become physically violent before you are allowed to question it. Abuse can include physical or sexual violence, but it can also involve intimidation, threats, isolation, monitoring, financial control, stalking, humiliation, or patterns of control over your choices and daily life.

You do not need to decide whether your relationship is “abusive” before seeking information or support. If something feels frightening, controlling, confusing, or unsafe, you deserve a place to explore what you are experiencing.

IMPORTANT CONTEXT

You know your situation best. Some behaviors—such as monitoring devices, accounts, location, finances, or communications—can affect how safely you access information or support. If you believe your activity may be monitored, consider using a safer device or communication method when possible. Seeking information does not obligate you to leave, report, confront anyone, or make a decision about your relationship.
